Imagine running almost every single day for an entire year. Now imagine doing that through 16 different countries, covering more than 16 000 km and running in some of the harshest conditions in the world, running on roads that even off-road vehicles don’t always survive.
If that alone is not enough, imagine being held at gunpoint less than a quarter of the way through your journey, and then being kidnapped less than 40 days later.
